Some of you may know we were "gifted" a puppy a few months ago by my mom(and I guess Dad, too)...yay us! I'm learning I'm not a huge "own-my-own-dog-pick-poop-up-in-the-yard-take-it-outside-while-she-putzes-around-for-6-years-in-the-cold/rain/snow/sleet/hail" fan, but the kids love her so we're managing to get along as best we can. Sometimes she's even cute. I am her favorite person...yay me. I like cats, always have and probably always will, but hubby is allergic so we can't have one....I sometimes like dogs, but usually much better when they belong to someone else. Anyway, her name is Gypsy, and she's a brown and white dapple miniature dachshund. Moral of the story is we are trying to teach her some obedience things...aside from not peeing on the carpet(GRRRRRRRR)...and one of them is a "sit...wait for it...ok, u can have your treat" sort of thing. Apparently it's something they teach in puppy class that a dog should stay sitting until you tell it otherwise...I don't know, I've never been to puppy class. Apparently my parents didn't think I needed it. However, tonight as the dog was waiting anxiously for her treat, I waited a few extra seconds before giving the "ok," so when she went for it she managed to somersault herself off the landing of the dining room and into the living room at my inlaws. It was hilarious!* She keeps making me laugh like that, and I just might keep her around!;0)
*For those of you wondering, the landing is one step...it's not an 8ft drop or anything remotely hazardous. I may not be a huge fan of having a pet to take care of on top of everything else in life, but I don't believe in shoving the dog off the roof...just so you know.;0) We also have no intention of getting rid of the dog...unless anyone is interested...? Just kidding...my little boy's heart would be broken...so I guess the dog stays.
